Par Hawaii is celebrating 20 years of Fueling Dreams for local athletes. From April 14 to May 26, 2025, island drivers can go the extra mile by making a donation at check out at any participating Hele station including 20 on Oahu, eight on Hawaii Island, and five on Maui. Every dollar pumped into this campaign helps athletes with intellectual disabilities train and compete free of charge.
Par Hawaii, marketer of Hele and 76 Hawaii, has been a strong supporter of Special Olympics Hawaii for more than three decades. To date, the Fueling Dreams campaign has raised more than $1,057,120 for Special Olympics Hawaii athletes and programs.

Learn Mokuhanga with Sensei Glenn Yamanoha at the Hawaii Japanese Center! Please join us every Saturday in May for this 5-week class with Glenn Yamanoha, a painter, printmaker, and sensei who studied Mokuhanga on a Monbusho grant in Kyoto, Japan. Kings’ Shops, in partnership with Traditions Hawaiʻi, invites the community to celebrate one of Hawaiʻi’s most cherished traditions at the Waikoloa Lei Day Festival on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Sponsored by Waikoloa Beach Resort and held in partnership with Queens’ Marketplace, the festival honors the artistry and cultural significance of lei-making through live entertainment, hands-on workshops, local artisans, and the return of the Waikoloa Lei Day Lei Contest.
Open to kamaʻāina and visitors, the free, family-friendly event kicks off at 10:45 a.m. with an ʻoli and hula kahiko by Hālau Manaola led by Kumu Hula Nani Lim Yap, followed by performances from hula hālau, local musicians, and a scavenger hunt across Kings’ Shops and Queens’ Marketplace. The first 300 scavenger hunt participants will receive a commemorative Lei Day canvas bag.
On May 3, 2025, the 'Awapuhi Labyrinth in Hawaii Paradise Park will host a special event to mark World Labyrinth Day, focusing on the theme of “Creating Peaceful Paths.” The day begins at 11:30 AM with a circle share, where participants will discuss building resilience in their lives and communities. At 1:00 PM, a global tradition takes place with a labyrinth walk, uniting participants around the world to walk “as one” for peace. The walk will be accompanied by live music from Deborah Masterson of Rhythm Full Circle. This event offers an opportunity for community connection and personal reflection, while also introducing Christy Hart Smith, one of the new labyrinth caretakers. Whether new or experienced with labyrinths, this day of reflection, connection, and peace is a unique chance to be part of a global movement.
