Live Performance Series

Watch this space for videos from our Live from the Atherton Performance events.

In Feb. 2023, HPR launched a new live performance series dedicated to Mele Hawaiʻi. ʻUheʻuhene kicked off our Mele Hawaiʻi Performance Series, which also featured Ei Nei, Pōmaikaʻi, and Galliard String Quartet with Raiatea Helm.

Since then, we've enjoyed more live music in the Atherton with the Hawaiʻi Classical Performance Series (Jan. 2024) and the second-year of live concerts celebrating Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month) (Feb. 2024). View a selection of videos from our performance series and exclusive Atherton recording sessions below.

Delbert Anderson Quartet

Delbert Anderson, a Diné jazz trumpet artist, composer, and educator, stands at the forefront of a vibrant Native American jazz scene. His work, deeply rooted in his Diné heritage, seamlessly integrates Navajo "spinning songs" of love, healing, and courtship with jazz and funk, thus marking him as a community-minded Indigenous individualist. Through his Delbert Anderson Quartet, Anderson revives the improvised sounds of the Diné circle, blending them with jazz, funk, and hip-hop. His compositions are inspired by Navajo Nation landscapes, historical events, and the desire to preserve and share Diné history. Learn more
