Join us for a creative and engaging class where you’ll learn how to make a beautiful origami wreath using colorful paper and simple folding techniques! In this hands-on session, you’ll discover how to fold modular origami units and assemble them into a stunning circular wreath — perfect for decorating your home, gifting, or celebrating special occasions .No prior origami experience is required! All skill levels are welcome. Step-by-step guidance will be provided, and you’ll leave with your very own handmade paper wreath and the skills to create more at home.
Why do corals lose their colors?
Have you ever wondered why some corals are less colorful than others? Join us this Sunday, December 14th from 3-4pm at the Kaimuki Public Library for a discussion on what are some of the factors causing our corals to lose their bright colors. There will be a hands-on demo with coral pieces, as well as one where you get to experience being a coral yourself This activity is geared towards keiki so please feel free to bring your family along for an fun, informative session!

The ocean is speaking! What does it say? Join Eliza Taylor, an underwater acoustics researcher from UH Mānoa, on an adventure to explore the amazing sounds of the ocean. What can sound teach us about whales, dolphins and the mysteries of the deep sea? How do scientists listen to the ocean? And is it possible to see sound? Through realrecordings and interactive activities, you’ll uncover a hiddenworld of voices that exists beneath the surface. Come listen,and discover what the ocean has to say!

Join the Heart Lotus Youth Warriors Program and help Palolo Elementary students with homework, reading skills, and cultural activities. Hours are 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whether you can come weekly or just occasionally, you can make a difference to a child. Orientation required.
