This annual exhibit features 40 works by 32 artists from Hawaii, the U.S. Mainland, and Asia. An online version of the exhibit and sales are available at www.hawaiiwatercolorsociety.org. Show juror is Joseph Zbulevic, a contemporary realist watercolor painter based in Melbourne, Australia.
KSA's Premier Show of the Year: "Art Kaua'i 2023." We are excited to announce and welcome this year's Juror, Margo Shepherd Ray from the Big Island who will select the artwork to be displayed in KSA's only juried exhibition of the year.
Art Entry Day takes place on Sat., September 9 from 11am to 5pm. Opening Reception is on Friday, September 15 from 5pm to 8pm. Join us for a night of Art, Music and Pupus.Show opens on Saturday, September 16 and runs through Friday, October 27 from noon to 6pm.

Volunteer, off-duty law enforcement officers will take their duties to new heights for Special Olympics Hawaii’s Badges and Buckets fundraiser. The event will take place September 7-9, on Kauai and Molokai, September 8-10, on Oahu, October 5-7, in Hilo, November 8-10, on Maui and November 10-12, in Kailua-Kona. There will also be a Waikiki Beach “pop up” location on Saturday, September 9. During the event volunteer officers will take community service to another level while perched on 10-foot scaffolds and rooftops at locations across the state. On the ground volunteers will collect donations and keep the excitement going for shoppers and supporters.
“Our Badges and Buckets fundraiser provides grassroots support to our programs which promote inclusion and provides sports training, competition, health, wellness, and leadership opportunities for individuals of all ages with intellectual disabilities,” said Special Olympics Hawaii’s President and CEO, Dan Epstein. “We are truly grateful for the dedication of all of our off-duty law enforcement volunteers and for the generosity of our community.”

COME SING WITH US! The Hilo Community Chorus - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit - will begin Fall Rehearsals on Mon., August 21st, 6:30 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Kapiolani St., Hilo, Hawaii. Hilo Community Chorus is a volunteer, non-auditioned community choir open to all Big Island residents who want to sing with us and who attend rehearsals. No choral experience is necessary, just a love of music and a willingness to participate. COME OUT AND JOIN US! Meet your neighbors, make new friends and have a great time doing it, all while making beautiful music and thereby helping to serve our local community! It’s win-win-win! Rehearsals are at 6:30 pm on Monday evenings. Nominal dues help to cover the cost of music. Our 2023 Holiday Concert is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3rd.

The Parent Line is offering free virtual workshops in October
Hawai`i families are invited to learn about a variety of resources on parenthood
The Parent Line, funded by the Department of Health and operated by Child & Family Service, hosts FREE virtual workshops open to the public throughout the year. This month, topics include safe sleep, building healthy eating habits, building self-worth and nurturing parenting routines.
