E hoʻolauleʻa kākou i ke kau pua! Celebrate the joy of spring at the annual Lei Day Heritage Festival event, hosted by the Maui Historical Society Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House. Dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Maui Nui, the Maui Historical Society brings the past to life through cultural exhibits, programs, and community celebrations rooted in Hawaiian culture.
This free ʻohana-friendly event features mele Hawaiʻi, hula, and hands-on activities such as lei making, all set within the peaceful grounds of Maui’s oldest museum and most cherished historic sites. Guests can enjoy local food offerings and refreshing beverages while relaxing and taking in the performances and cultural demonstrations.

Maui resident artists showing paintings, wood carving, jewelry, ceramics, photography, feather art, and more they've created, fridays & saturdays under tents in the grassy area of the parking lot. A non-profit started in the 1960s LAS provides free art and music classes to Maui youth. Come and talk story with the artists.
The Friends of Haleakalā National Park invites the community to join them for their 2026 Annual Public Meeting, which also marks an important milestone: 30 years of service supporting Haleakalā National Park. The free event is Saturday, May 2, 3:00–5:00 pm, at the Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, Milepost 6, Mokulele Hwy, Kīhei
The park’s Archaeologist & Cultural Resources Program Manager Rachel Hodara Nelson will give a presentation on Uncovering the Archaeology of Haleakalā National Park. She’ll share discoveries from archaeological research throughout the park on sites that reveal centuries of human activity, travel, and cultural use and which help park managers and the community to better understand and protect the cultural heritage of Haleakalā.
Updates from Haleakalā National Park and the Friends group will also be given, along with information on how to get involved as a volunteer.
All are welcome. Parking is available at the visitor center.
