DW Gibson
Executive Producer, Podcasts and MultimediaDW Gibson is the author of several books including the award-winning The Edge Becomes the Center: An Oral History of Gentrification. He shared a National Magazine Award for his work on “This is the Story of One Block in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn,” for New York Magazine.
His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Harper's Magazine. His previous radio work includes co-hosting the podcast “There Goes the Neighborhood,” guest hosting various programs for WNYC in New York, and reading original essays for All Things Considered and Live from Here.
For 20 years he served as director of the writers residency program at Art Omi, and he co-founded Sangam House, a writers residency in India, along with Arshia Sattar. He joined Hawaiʻi Public Radio in 2025 and can be reached at dgibson@hawaiipublicradio.org.
