Join us for the 19th annual Run for the Dry Forest at the Puʻuwaʻawaʻa Forest Reserve! Featuring a 10K run, a 5K run/walk, and two keiki runs, this unique event offers the chance to explore a stunning landscape while directly supporting vital conservation efforts. Beyond the trails, enjoy outreach booths and a silent auction featuring amazing experiences and products generously donated by local businesses. It’s fun for the whole family!

Pu‘uwa‘awa‘a is a State-managed area that is one of very few intact examples of a Hawaiian dryland forest. Global estimates show tropical dry forests have been reduced to less than 5% of their previous coverage. Proceeds will be used for research and management at Pu‘uwa‘awa‘a and adjacent Pu‘uanahulu.

Race Options:

10K Run: An "extreme trail running experience" with a challenging 1200 ft. elevation gain in the first 3 miles – perfect for experienced runners.

5K Run/Walk: A scenic course suitable for all fitness levels and jogging strollers. This trail includes coarse rock, dirt, and paved sections and is suitable for most! Strollers with large wheels allowed.

Keiki Fun Runs: There will be two fun and easy races for kids and parents. A ¼ mile non-competitive run around the reservoir and a short keiki dash in the field.

Farmers and Artisan market

Support local & shop small with us every Sunday in Kailua!

Our market features a diverse mix of food vendors, artisans & crafters, farmed goods & interactive booths. We are a family-friendly establishment with free keiki activities & live music.

We service 110+ vendors each year with 60+ on site each week. This means each time you visit, there's something unique to explore. Regardless of when you come, there's always something for everyone!

Street parking is free on Sundays & we are surrounded by several public parking lots. 

Does your citrus have spots? Are your tomatoes looking tired? Don't let your garden woes wilt your spirits. Bring your gardening questions and plant samples to the Kauaʻi Master Gardener "Plant Doctor" booth every Saturday at the farmers market.

This free community service, provided by the University of Hawaiʻi’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience, connects you with highly trained Master Gardener volunteers who specialize in tropical horticulture, pest management, and soil health. Whether you are a backyard grower or a small-scale farmer, the "Plant Doctor" is in to help your garden thrive.

Whether your keiki is a budding artist or just loves to get crafty, this free event is the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning.

Join us for Pineapple Pages: Storytime & Craft, where fun stories meet hands-on crafts!

Every third Saturday of the month at Liliha Library, enjoy a fun-filled time of storytime and crafts! Dive into cool tales and get creative with hands-on activities. Perfect for kids and families who love a mix of imagination and making stuff. Come hang out, listen, and craft away with us!

Introducing OnoFest & Fall Expo. Formerly Food & New Product Show. The show will feature the First Bite Concept. All food and specialty drink vendors will present a new food menu, product, or concoction they did not offer before til this show! These new items will sell for $6 or less so you can try them and let them know if its worthy.
With over 200 exhibitors expecting: food samples galore from tasty treats to new food delicacies, innovative new products for the home, goods from local jewelry-makers and artisans, and the other special zones.
Additional features include a Pop-Up Marketplace, plant sales, live entertainment, along with food samplings from specialty exhibitors and hourly giveaways.
The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are: General Admission $6.50, Seniors over 60 and Military $5.50, and Children 12 Years and Younger are free with an accompanied adult.

This performance-focused series is designed for students who want to build confidence, develop expressive movement, and create a polished aerial dance routine.

Throughout the series, you’ll explore choreography, musicality, transitions, stage presence, and storytelling while refining your aerial skills. Each class builds on the last, culminating in a professionally choreographed performance at the Diwali Celebration at Hawaiʻi Theatre, an unforgettable opportunity to showcase your growth on one of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic stages.

Whether you’re preparing for your first performance or looking to deepen your artistic expression, this series offers a supportive environment to challenge yourself, connect with fellow aerialists, and experience the magic of performing.

Soak in a once-in-a-lifetime experience and unforgettable views of Waikiki and Diamond Head while making an impact for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi athletes! This year’s 17th Annual Over the Edge fundraiser will take place Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. Participants have the truly unique opportunity to rappel more than 400 feet down the side of the hotel and stop for a photo on the way. Register as an individual or create a team with your co-workers, friends, or family at bit.ly/sohiote2026. Space is limited, so interested supporters are encouraged to sign up today.

Early bird registration is currently available through August 1, with a reduced registration fee of $50. For those registering after August 1, the registration fee is $100 per participant. For teams, the registration fee is $25. Participants must weigh between 100 and 300 pounds. Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the event and sign a consent waiver. All participants are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in donations.

“Over the Edge has become a signature event that reflects the strength and special spirit of our community,” said Tracey Bender, Director of Development at Special Olympics Hawaiʻi. “What makes this event so meaningful to those that participate is not just the challenge of rappelling along Waikiki’s iconic coastline, but the impact it creates for our athletes. Every participant is able to face and overcome their fears and challenges, much like our athletes do every day.”

All participants will receive a commemorative 17th anniversary Over the Edge t-shirt. Additional prizes will be awarded to those who raise more than the $1,000 fundraising minimum. Monies raised through Over the Edge remain in Hawaiʻi and support local athletes across the state. Since 2009, Over the Edge has raised more than $2,247,500 for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi athletes and programs.
