Musician, Producer, Singer-Songwriter Deanna Wen is a senior at Punahou School. Wen first visited us in 2023, and again in 2024 each time with new music, great advice, and her teacher, Mr. Duane Padilla. Cellist Mark Votapek and pianist Jonathan Korth, along with Mark Butin and Iggy Chang, will perform a chamber music concert at Orvis Auditorium, featuring the Cello Sonata by Rachmaninoff and the Dvorak Piano Quartet. The program also includes Schumann's Five Pieces in Folk Style and a suite by Spanish composer Gaspar Casado. This is Voltapek's first full public recital in Hawaii since 2008.

Cellist Anna Callner Pare and her string quartet, Kai Quartet, created Allegro Keiki — a series of musical events designed for young listeners ages 0-5. Comprised of professional musicians who are also teachers and moms, the quartet performs an enriching program each month in a welcoming space for keiki to enjoy.

London-based composer Raymond Yiu’s "Old Bei" is a tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven and his influence in China. Yiu is in Honolulu for the world premiere of the revised version of this work with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, March 6. During his visit, he stopped by Hawai‘i Public Radio to discuss the light and dark in music and life, the connections and complexities within them, and, of course, the warm weather in Hawaiʻi.
