Tropical Storm Moke is forecast to pass south of the Hawaiian Islands this weekend, bringing heavy rains and strong gusts of wind.
While this storm is not expected to have the same force as Lala, the National Hurricane Center warns that dangerous conditions, including mudslides and flooding, could occur in parts of Hawaiʻi Island that are already saturated by rain.

Here's the latest information on Tropical Storm Moke:
- There are currently no watches or warnings from the National Weather Service in place for the islands.
- Parts of Hawaiʻi Island could see as much as 15 inches of rain, with rainfall beginning Saturday night and continuing into Monday. Sustained winds are projected to reach around 50 mph with higher gusts. Eastern Maui can expect to see a maximum of four inches of rain, with the remainder of the islands seeing around one to two.
- The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation is preparing facilities and clearing vegetation across all islands ahead of Tropical Storm Moke. Crews are also repairing major roads and clearing priority streams.
