Oct 25 Sunday
Please join us at Ka'ehu for our 4th Sunday of every month cleanup of this beautiful bay! We work together to pick up marine debris that's continuously washing ashore, from all around the Pacific Ocean and locally. Then we weigh, sort and count it all. This information gets added to our ongoing database since 2012, when we first began these regular cleanups at Ka'ehu.
It's a very rewarding and educational experience (with good karma and outdoor exercise). All are welcome to join this adventurous trashy treasure hunt! Please rsvp so we can provide our most updated safety and access information:sharkastics@gmail.com

ʻAinakea is set on Maui’s west side in 1953. The play tells the fictional story of the wealthy Goodale family and their failing sugar plantation, ‘Ainakea, which was named for a type of prized white sugarcane.
The play is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s classic drama The Cherry Orchard, widely considered one of the great plays of the early 20th century. Nevius has updated the drama to the 1950s. With statehood looming and the traditional, plantation-based sugar business coming to an end, this was a period of great uncertainty and change in the Hawaiian islands.Written by Maui playwright - James Nevius
Nevius' last full-length play, Murder in the Nth Degree, won the ProArts Playhouse inaugural playwriting competition and was named Best Play of 2022 by Broadway World Hawaii.

About the ShowPresented by ProArts Playhouse and Mana’o RadioSongs and stories of Brad Colerick with Tim Gauthier and Ron & Julie Lynam“One of a baker’s dozen of acts to watch in the folk community around the world” —Billboard MagazineWhen he’s not on the road, Brad Colerick splits his time between South Pasadena and his Rocky Mountain getaway in Fraser, Colorado. Billboard Magazine called him “one of a baker’s dozen of acts to watch in the folk community around the world.” The Nebraska native writes songs that seep into your heart with a single listen. His full-hearted lyrics find the poetry in everyday language. He built a successful career making music for commercials where he wrote and produced ditties recorded by such musical icons as BB King, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Guy, and Johnny Cash. Colerick’s albums land firmly in the Americana wheelhouse with guest appearances by Suzy Bogguss, Chris Hillman, and April Verch. He’ll be joined by Fort Collins, Colorado-based Julie Lynam on stand up bass and Ron Lynam on fiddle, banjo and any other stringed instrument he can drum up.
