Aloha Everything
Author Kaylin George (right) and illustrator Mae Waite partnered with Hawaiʻi Literacy's Bookmobile to share their new children's book.

A whimsical children's book titled “Aloha Everything" was recently named the 2025 Asian/Pacific American Awards for Literature Picture Book winner, one of about half a dozen honors since it was published last year.

It also received the Ānuenue Hawaiʻi Keiki Book Award for 2025. More than 700 keiki voted for their favorite book, and thumbs up for "Aloha Everything."

HPR spoke to author Kaylin George and illustrator Mae Waite about the creative process behind the book.
