Hawaiʻi’s first Media Teacher Award was given out this week. Moanalua Elementary School’s Norma Gonzalez, or Mrs. G as she’s known by her students, received the honor from ʻŌlelo Community Media at its 19th annual Youth Xchange Awards Gala.

The award was introduced this year and determined by a combination of votes from students, teachers, school administrators and families. Gonzalez took some time to talk to The Conversation via Zoom, fittingly, this morning.

This interview aired on The Conversation on April 21, 2022. The Conversation airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on HPR-1.
