Keanu Lau Hee will serve as Hawaiʻi Community Foundation's senior director for the Maui Recovery Effort. She will start on July 16.

The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation has raised close to $140 million from over 270,000 contributors for the Maui Strong Fund, an outpouring of support following the wildfire disaster. The foundation has distributed over $30 million to the community so far.

The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation reports more than 200,000 donors from more than 50 countries have contributed. CEO Micah Kāne said more than $120 million has been raised for the HCF Maui Strong Fund.

The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority has awarded grants to several local environmental and cultural organizations. After eliminating grants last year because of pandemic budget constraints, the agency recently awarded more than $3 million through its Kūkulu Ola and Aloha ʻĀina grants.
