Hele-On is collaborating with the state Department of Education to help with the shortage of school bus drivers and routes on Hawaiʻi Island.

Students who live near an existing Hele-On route can get to and from school using a Hele-On monthly pass.

Students who attend a public middle or high school with school buses already at maximum capacity can apply for a free monthly pass.

If students do not qualify for free transportation, they can purchase a quarterly bus pass fee for $72. This will include Hele-On bus passes for three months (a value of $135)

A school bus application can be submitted to the school office, or online.

After the school reviews the application, parents will be notified if the application has been approved. It will take approximately two weeks to receive their Hele-On bus pass.
