About the Garden:

Step away from the city and enjoy a refreshing visit to Foster Botanical Garden, the oldest of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens. This 14-acre oasis features a world-class collection of tropical plants, including some magnificent trees planted in the 1850s by Dr. William Hillebrand. These trees mark the beginning of what would become the Honolulu Botanical Gardens.

What to Expect:

Tours are led by dedicated volunteer guides who have completed a six-week training program. They bring the garden to life with in-depth stories, history, culture, and fascinating insights into its plants and animals.

Hands On Cold-Process Soap Making Class
Learning about tools, equipment, safely combining ingredients,
how to develop formulations, step by step process, along with some
history of soap making.

Garimo's class may likely be the only hand-on class in Hawaii.
Class limited to six participants.

✍️ About the Playwright
Diane Aoki is a Hawaiʻi-based playwright and educator whose work explores memory, cultural identity, and family legacy.
Her upcoming play Memory Beads will premiere at Kumu Kahua Theatre in May 2026. The piece traces five generations of mother-daughter relationships through stories and heirlooms rooted in Okinawan and Hawaiian history.
As a Story Circle Coordinator and contributing playwright with PlayBuilders of Hawaiʻi Theater Company, Diane helps transform real community stories into theatrical works.
Her writing reflects a deep commitment to uplifting underrepresented voices and honoring intergenerational storytelling.

Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce our 5th annual Halloween Haunted House attraction and fundraiser, THEATRE OF TERRORS: MURDER HOTEL.
Check in for the scare of your life at this year's haunted attraction! The Theatre of Terrors: Murder Hotel isn't just haunted- it's hiding a deadly secret. Guests will wander through eerie halls, blood-stained rooms, and shadowy corridors. Encounter terrifying staff and unsettling guests at every turn.

But beware: every scream hides a clue. To escape, you must piece together the crime and solve the mystery of who's behind the murders lurking within the hotel walls. Will you uncover the truth before the killer finds you?

Music from the American songbook that Billie Holiday was known to sing, New York saxophonist John Isley arranged and originally recorded these tunes in 2017 with a MYC band featuring the vocals of noted blues singer Southside Johnny.

Allen Won brings John and local singer Mike Pirahna McGraw and a Nonet to perform these songs, live at Room 909 on October 27 from 7-9. Free admission.

Hunter Down hosts the funniest, queerest pub trivia night -- THE BAR EXAM -- at Proof Social Club. Drink specials and prizes for winners. Presented by DJ Jet Boy.
