Kaʻōhao School principal on the community-led effort to remove the Lanikai name

Five years ago this month, the school community of what was then Lanikai Elementary asked to change its name to reflect a sense of place. Kaʻōhao was the name of the area before developers came up with the name Lanikai to help sell homes in the neighborhood. The Conversation talked to Principal Winston Sakurai about the name changing process.
