Closing out this past week in which climate change has been the focus on the global stage, Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy on the Big Island has been working toward its sustainability goals for several years. HPA’s Sustainability Plan, approved in 2019, includes 12 metrics for monitoring goal progress in areas like curriculum development, energy, water, waste, local food, and transportation.

Board of Trustees Chair Robert Budway and sustainability resource director Greg McKenna shared the latest about the school's green energy and zero waste goals.
