The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is granting Robert's Hawaiʻi School Bus $200,000 to replace 10 buses running on diesel fuel. The models from 2005 will be replaced with 2022 diesel buses.

It’s all part of the 2021 Diesel Emissions Reduction Act School Bus Rebates.

According to the EPA, switching to newer models of diesel buses can still reduce carbon monoxide gas emissions by 83%.

The transition will also reduce the emission of fine particles responsible for various respiratory problems (PM2.5) by 98%.

Nationally, the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act will replace 444 school buses.
