A recent survey found that nearly all domestic visitors were fully vaccinated, with one in three travelers saying they postponed their Hawaiʻi trip until a vaccine exemption was in place.
The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority polled visitors from the continental U.S. who traveled to Hawaiʻi in early October for its COVID-19 visitor satisfaction study. This is the fourth and final visitor survey in the series that started last December.
94% of visitors polled said they were fully vaccinated.
81% rated their trips as excellent.
Among repeat visitors that traveled to the Islands before the pandemic, nearly 40% said their current trips were less satisfying. They cited too many COVID restrictions and limited availability or capacity at restaurants, attractions and lodging.
70% of respondents said they will visit Hawaiʻi again regardless of pre-visit requirements.
