Maunakea Visitor Information Station
University of Hawaiʻi
Maunakea Visitor Information Station

The Maunakea Visitor Information Station on Hawaiʻi Island has reopened to guests.

The station has been closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Staff at the station have installed safety barriers and will observe social distancing.

Parking and vehicle pull-outs are now located on the same side of the road as the visitor station, which will help provide public access on Maunakea.

The visitor station will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.

The Maunakea Visitor Station is located at the 9,200-foot elevation of the mountain in an area known as Halepōhaku.

More information can be found at Center for Maunakea Stewardship website.
