The Historic Hawaiʻi Foundation has launched a weekly lecture series around Queen Liliʻoukalani’s homes. They include ʻIolani Palace, the Queen’s Retreat at Boyd House, and Liliʻuokalani’s possible birthplace at Haleuluhe.

Thursday's afternoon lecture highlighted Washington Place, which is getting ready to celebrate its 175th anniversary. Washington Place was the home of Liliʻuokalani, and past territorial and state governors. First Lady Dawn Ige has been busy planning a number of events as the historic home, now a museum, is set to resume tours later this month. She spoke to The Conversation about the upcoming celebrations.

This interview aired on The Conversation on Feb. 10, 2022. The Conversation airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on HPR-1.
