With ʻIolani Palace decorated in honor of King Kalākaua’s birthday this week, visitors will be treated to new additions at the historic royal residence. Hilo designer Iris Viacrucis recreated Kalākaua's coronation suit with materials from as far away as Pakistan. Paula Akana, executive director of The Friends of ʻIolani Palace, said visitors are welcome to visit and catch a glimpse for themselves.
