Updated: 10/31/2020, 12:30 p.m. The Hawaii Department of Health reported 68 new COVID-19 cases today, pushing the statewide total in the pandemic to 15,071. There were three new deaths, raising the toll to 219.

Oahu had 46 new cases, Hawaii Island 15 and Maui 1. Lanai, Kauai, and Molokai had no new cases. Six new cases were diagnosed out of state.

Oahu has now recorded 13,133 cases, Hawaii Island 1,274, Maui 408, Molokai 17, Lanai 99 and Kauai 64. Seventy-six cases have been diagnosed out of state.

Lanai High and Elementary School reported no new student cases after the island outbreak forced classes into distance learning. The state Department of Education said as of yesterday, the total number of student cases remained at 32 and no staff cases were reported.

COVID-19 infections on Lanai are slowing, the health department said yesterday.

The island remains under a stay-at-home order after the spike in coronavirus cases that the state says stemmed from large social gatherings and household transmission. Surge testing results are still being reported out, the department said.

Another round of drive-through surge testing is scheduled today, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the old Dole Administration Building. Those who are uninsured should provide a photo I.D. to have the test covered. Maui County is encouraging residents to get tested even if they participated in the first surge testing.

To pre-register for the tests, call the Straub Medical Center-Lanai Clinic at 808-565-6423 or the Lanai Community Health Center at 808-565-6919.
