This Election Day, Hawaiʻi Public Radio is following the races for governor, lieutenant governor, U.S. Congress, and all 76 seats in the Hawaiʻi State Legislature. HPR will have updates online and on HPR-1.
Results provided by The Associated Press will start to display after polls close at 7 p.m. *Update: Some results will likely be delayed until 8 p.m. due to long lines at voter service centers.
The AP will declare winners throughout the night. The AP does not make projections or name apparent or likely winners. Only when the AP is fully confident a race has been won – defined most simply as the moment a trailing candidate no longer has a path to victory – will the AP make a call. You can read more about the AP's process for counting votes and calling races on its website.
