There is a massive online server outage affecting Oʻahu’s public transportation services including TheBus, TheHandi-Van, and HOLO card operations. It started Thursday morning and there is no time frame on when the networks will be recovered.

The Honolulu Department of Transportation Services confirmed the system was hit with a cyberattack. Officials said they're working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Secret Service and the Honolulu Police Department to gather evidence.

TheBus will continue to run on schedule with little to no delays, the DTS said. Drivers will allow passengers to board the bus if they present a HOLO card. Riders should still tap their HOLO cards at the card reader. Cash payment is still accepted.

TheHandi-Van is unable to access customer reservations. Customers who need a pickup should call (808) 456-5555. There is likely a high volume of callers and DTS asks for patience.

TheBus Pass Office at Kalihi Transit Center was been affected. Customers will not be able to purchase HOLO cards or passes, and are urged to go to Satellite City Hall or other retail locations.
