Game Day at Hawaii State Library
Honoka'a Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will sponsor our first annual Holiday Bazaar with shopping and dining opportunities in the Social Hall, the Thrift Store and parking lot. A variety of vendors selling everything from holiday crafts to auto parts to collectibles are anticipated. Food trucks and food vendors will also be positioned in the Temple parking lot and Da' Temple Basement Store will be open for business.
The event will raise funds for the Temple's various expenses. Honoka'a Hongwanji engages in numerous community programs such as “Feeding Our Keiki and Kupuna,” which has distributed over 100,000 meals and a million pounds of groceries on Fridays over the past 6-1/2 years. Its Peace Committee has been producing the Peace Day Parade and Festival since 2007. Other programs include “Fundraising for Ukraine Families” and the documentary film about the labor martyr, Katsu Goto.

Oli is vibrational expression and a primary technology and mode of communication, anchored in the Hawaiʻi soundscape, that is easy to access. The pursuit of relationships in resonance with our environment can take many forms, which is why EKWOF honors multiple ways of knowing and multiple intelligences. This festival is for ANYONE interested in learning to connect to place and apply that connection to your personal and professional life. You will gain access to oli guides via our concert, backstage passes, in ʻAha, workshops, Co-Keynote presentations, an Oli Challenge, and our Wa Kanaloa Integrated Arts Market.
