Doors open at 6pm for guests to grab a bite to eat at one of our on-site food vendors or check out some unique gifts from vendors inside. The night will begin with an opening ceremony by Kumu Hula, Lanakila Mangauil. Lanakila and his organization HŌʻĀ has been transforming The Demonstration Orchard below The Farmers’ Market into Hawaiian mala(gardens) and through his partnership with community members and The 'Āina ‘Ulu Program, they have planted many Kalo, ‘Ulu, dwarf coconut, and an array of other Hawaiian traditional crops to be shared with the community for years to come.
Followed by a night of music from celebrated Hawaiian and Jawaiian Music legend and Author of "The Hawaiian Survival Handbook", Brother Noland, in an intimate musical eve about relating with and reading the signs of the land.
Born and raised in Kalihi-Palama on the island of O'ahu, Brother Noland has filled the airwaves with original compositions for nearly 40 years that have become local classics and island treasures. He is often credited with the birth of “Jawaiian” (fusion of Hawaiian, Reggae & Jazz) contemporary style music with classics like COCONUT GIRL, PUA LANE, & BIG SHIP with his music being featured in several movies, including "Pineapple Express" and "Snakes in the Plane."

He is an impactful player and respected artist in Hawai'i's music scene. In 2014 he was honored by the State of Hawai'i for a "Lifetime Achievement in Music." In 2019, he received the Hawai`i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award. Despite the accolades, Brother Noland has never forgotten his roots and his community. He serves as a mentor to Hawai’i’s youth, helping them to define their choices and make a quality connection to the community through music and how to care and be cared for by the ‘āina (land) and the ocean. Noland has a deep connection to Hawai'i, preserving Hawaiian customs, and indigenous knowledge and principles. Brother Noland authored the "Hawaiian Survival Handbook," where he shares the outdoor skills he has developed over a lifetime spent in Hawai'i's forests and waters.

An author, artist, philanthropist, mentor, musician, and family man, Brother Noland continually inspires and infuses creativity and innovation to pave new paths of music and humanity worldwide.
