Clarinetist James Moffitt, bassoonist Shelly Li and composer Thomas Osborne join Classical Pacific to preview the Chamber Music Hawaii concert "Rhythmic Resonance and Breath of Sound"
Sharene Keliʻipunilei Lum Taba grew up in Pearl City listening to a variety of music – mostly in the car and the choice of the driver (Grandma, Mom, Dad, sister or brother). It ranged from Hawaiian to Japanese Enka to Top 40 to HPR. Sharene played the violin in school, and is now a professional freelance harpist and mother. She and husband jazz bassist Dean Taba love to play and listen to music, and are raising their children to celebrate the love of learning and of all kinds of music.
Chamber Music Hawaiʻi’s Jim Moffitt and Tommy Morrison stopped by Morning Café to preview Saturday’s Spring Wind Quintet concert, featuring selections from Mozart’s Harmoniemusik and the Gran Partita.
Trumpet players JoAnn Lamolino and Casey Tamahana of the Honolulu Brass Quintet stopped by Morning Café ahead of their program “Dances Around the World” with two performances this weekend on Oʻahu. Originally scheduled for March 2020, the concerts feature modern and traditional works, including Enrique Crespo's Suite Americana.
