The second annual “Contact” show is living up to its goals of both breaking new ground and providing points of convergence. Offerings range from films, group discussions, even an ‘ukulele sing along, to the exhibition at the Honolulu Museum of Art School. HPR’sNoeTanigawa reports.
The “CONTACT” curators, Noelle Kahanu and Ngahiraka Mason, host a discussion tonight, and there are related events into next week. The exhibition runs through Sunday April 12. Upstairs, the Ancient Hawai'i exhibit funs through April 30th.

PechaKucha 23: CONTACT Eight creative community members will share 20 slides, 20 seconds each, generated from a CONTACT experience. Come early and enjoy Hawaiian music, ono food and drink. Exhibition will be open.

Director Ann Marie Nalani Kirk’s films bring into focus some of the turn of the century complexities and
juxtapositions. Personal contact reflections on the films by Kirk to follow.

Music of Hawaii Concert Series:
He Mele Aloha Sing-a-Long! Bring your ‘ukulele and join old time musicians, Aunty Noe Mahoe, Vicky Hollinger and KimoHussey along with historian PuakeaNogelmeier and publisher of He Mele Aloha, Carol Wilcox, as favorite old-time Hawaiian songs are discussed and sung with the audience.
