Helping Hand - October 12, 2018 Footsteps to Transition Fair complete interview

This week on Helping Hand, we’re learning about the 2018 Footsteps to Transition Fair, Saturday October 20 at Radford High School from 8:30 a.m. to noon. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Program Specialist Amanda Kaahanui, from SPIN, the Special Parent Information Network. Hosted by the Department of Education, the fair is for middle and high school students with special needs, their family, loved ones and caregivers to assist in critical details of making a life transition and explore a range of opportunities for adult life.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR as part of All Things Considered and then is archived here. Each Friday, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to the disabled and most vulnerable.

Dave Lawrence is the local host of All Things Considered, Road Stories (formerly Off the Road) and Stargazer.
