"You Don't Belong Here: How Three Women Rewrote the Story of War" by Elizabeth Becker

"You Don't Belong Here: How Three Women Rewrote the Story of War" is a new book by author and journalist Elizabeth Becker. She was a war correspondent for The Washington Post and a correspondent for The New York Times, and she served as NPR’s senior editor for the foreign desk.

The book features the stories of three female war correspondents: Kate Webb of Australia, Catherine Leroy of France, and Frances FitzGerald of the United States. Becker published the book last year during the pandemic but the paperback has just been released. We caught up with her while she was in Hawaiʻi.

This interview aired on The Conversation on April 25, 2022. The Conversation airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on HPR-1.
