With Gov. David Ige’s recent rollout of the state’s incentive program to encourage more residents to get the COVID vaccination, questions still remain about its potential for success.

The Conversation sat down with University of Hawaii professor of psychology Jack Barile to find out if rewards like airline tickets and restaurant gift cards work better than penalties.
