A few years ago, Chuck Mitsui, owner of skateboard shop 808 Skate, asked himself why he wasn't an HPR member, since he was a longtime station listener. So he became a member and immediately experienced a greater sense of connection with Hawai?i Public Radio. He was now actively doing something to preserve his primary source for news.
