Today, I'm conintuing to play work that concerns an American sense of place, whether it be a physical, emotional, ideological or reflective sense. Today you'll hear music by Lous Moreau Gottschalk, Mark Shaiman, Jennifer Higdon, Larry and Laurie Hochman, Irving Berlin, John Corigliano, Adolphus Hailstork, William Grant Still, Amy Beach, Arthur Foote, James Horner, Antonín Dvorák, Edward MacDowell and George Gershwin, all composers who have reflected on and influenced our particularly American sense of place.

Louise Keali‘iloma King Lanzilotti comes from a multi-ethnic background that has informed many of her beliefs. Her experience covers artistic, educational and administrative areas of the arts. Lanzilotti taught for over twenty years in public, private and alternative schools K – 12, developing a method of writing music and plays with students, which solidified her understanding of the importance of arts engagement for all.
