kebmo.com

Keb' Mo' is back in the islands for solo acoustic dates through Sunday at the Blue Note Hawaii, performing 8 p.m. shows each night touring to support his latest album, Oklahoma. The gfited musician has fascinating history that stretches far past his 1994 debut. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence spoke with him about some of his numerous career highlights ahead of his return to the state.

In this interview, stories cover a wide range of his experiences, though with a resume like his, it really only scratches the surface. Names that come up include Papa John Creach, Jefferson Airplane and Starship, Hot Tuna, Taj Mahal, Albert Collins, Big Joe Turner, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Eric Clapton, Earl Klugh, Buddy Guy, Booker T. Jones, James Taylor, Dan Ackroyd, Carol Burnett and Gregg Allman, among others. Simply put, the man has crossed paths with a lot of folks, and this is just a small sampling of his many experiences.
