HPR names new Director of Marketing & Communications, Dabney Gough

Hawai?i Public Radio is pleased to announce the appointment of Dabney Gough as their new Director of Marketing & Communications. She succeeds Phyllis S.K. Look, who retired from HPR on March 31, 2019.

Gough will provide marketing leadership and develop strategies for branding and promotion of the station’s statewide services over two discrete stations on 15 frequencies, the internet, social media, and streaming devices.

“Dabney’s experience as a seasoned marketer and as a longtime supporter of HPR makes her a valuable addition to the station,” said José A. Fajardo, HPR’s President and General Manager. “She will be instrumental in helping us fulfill our mission to educate, inform, connect, and entertain the community, now and into the future.”

Gough brings more than 15 years of marketing experience to her position at HPR. She most recently served as Director of Marketing at Hawaiian Ola, producer of Hawai‘i-made organic beverages. Prior to that, Gough spent five years at Whole Foods Market, where she oversaw marketing and community engagement for their Hawai‘i stores. She also served as one of the founding co-chairs of Generation Listen, an HPR initiative established with the mission of engaging younger listeners with the station. Under her leadership, Generation Listen launched a calendar of events, developed communications channels and strategies, and made meaningful connections in the community.

She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
