One week into Hawaii tourism's reopening

The year is almost over and Hawaii's economy is struggling to recover from the COVID-19 shutdown. Can we see the way any clearer? This morning we talked to Mufi Hannemann, president and CEO of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, which represents hoteliers in a vital industry. There are calls that more needs to be done to encourage our tourists to wear their masks to help keep our community safe.

Wedding industry cautiously optimistic on industry rebound

The Islands have long been popular with honeymooners, and many companies have seen a massive decrease in business as many rely almost solely on visitors planning a destination wedding. Lauren Carson is a wedding and event planner at Oahu-based Weddings of Hawaii. She's cautiously optimistic as Hawaii begins to reopen for tourism.

Oahu gyms, arcades, vacation rentals could reopen soon

Oahu gyms may start reopening and other business restrictions could be eased as soon as Thursday when the City and County of Honolulu moves to the second tier of its COVID-19 reopening plan, Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced Tuesday.
