Unite Here! Local 5 wants a seat at the table to discuss tourism reopening plans

With a week left before Hawaii's pre-travel testing program launches, Gov. David Ige revealed more details, which include limited use of a second test. Eric Gill of Unite Here! Local 5, which represents 11,000 hotel workers, has been asking that the union sit at the table for talks about reopening. Absent of that he has asked hoteliers to spell out protocols and protections for union members as they are called back to work.
