  Hawai‘i acknowledged art and culture as central to quality of life by establishing the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts in 1965.  Hawai‘i’s groundbreaking Art in Public Places program ensures that art is a part of community life.  HPR’sNoeTanigawa offers this visit to a new exhibit at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum, HiSAM, celebrating the SFCA’s50th anniversary.

“Hawai‘i: Change and Continuity” continues at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum.  

The Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts invites you to visit the Hawai‘i State Art Museum (HiSAM). HiSAM is located on the 2nd floor of the No. 1 Capitol District Building, 250 South Hotel Street, Honolulu, Hawai‘i, 96813. Admission is free at all times.

Tuesday through Saturday
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Art + Flea is creating a pop­-up Find Art market and workshop from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., while Dayton Watanabe performs contemporary and Hawaiian slack key guitar in the second floor lobby.
