Eddie Flores is ready to party like it's 1952. That's when L&L Hawaiian Barbecue began as L&L Dairy, owned by Robert Lee.

Flores bought the original L&L at 1711 Liliha St. in 1976 and it's still operating today, now called L&L Drive-Inn.

To celebrate L&L's 70th anniversary, more than 100 franchisees from 10 states and Japan are set to attend a convention Friday and Saturday in Waikiki.

There are currently 211 L&L locations, including 66 in Hawaiʻi and 96 in California.

L&L recently opened locations at Mānoa Marketplace and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
