The state Department of Health has given the all-clear to three more zones in the Navy’s water distribution system serving Pearl Harbor.

Tap water has been deemed safe for consumption in the McGrew Point/Halawa, Camp Smith, and one of three Aliamanu Military Reservation zones — known as H1.

AMR Child Development Center, AMR Child and Youth Services Center and AMR Youth Activities Center are also located in Zone H1. Camp Smith is home to the headquarters of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Marine Forces Pacific, as well as some military housing for all branches.

That leaves 12 zones still under a health advisory against using the water for drinking, cooking and oral hygiene — including zones H2 and H3 at AMR.

All zones in the Navy’s distribution system have been, or are being, flushed after jet fuel contaminated the water system in November 2021.

The distribution system serves 93,000 residents in areas around Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
