Rental car prices in the islands are still among the highest in the country, according to a report from FinanceBuzz.com. The website reports on rental car prices in popular holiday destinations in the U.S.
For the Christmas holiday, the top three most expensive destinations on the list are all in Hawaiʻi.
Kailua-Kona topped the list with a daily cost of $194.
Lihue and Kahului came in second and third at $158 and $156, respectively.
And Honolulu came in fifth at $142.
However, during the Thanksgiving weekend – Honolulu was the second least expensive city to rent a car. According to the website, the total cost for that weekend came in at $225.
