Today HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence offers up another preview of a new interview in our series.
It’s a preview of an upcoming feature with songwriter legend Jimmy Webb. The talented multiple Grammy Award winner joined us remotely from the New York area for a remarkable 75 minute storytelling session. Jimmy wrote classics like “Witchita Lineman” “By The Time I Get To Phoenix", and “MacArthur Park”, among many other seminal compositions. Over the full interview, he shared how he’s been personally and professionally affected by the crises taking place, and shared incredible stories from his memoir The Cake and The Rain. He also discussed his recent collection of cover piano interpretations, SlipCover Piano Arrangements. To be sure, his storytelling is as epic as his songwriting, and he delivered some impressive tales.
Later in July we’ll air a special two-day interview feature, but today share highlights from it.
