This afternoon HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence continues a series of interviews with international touring musicians sharing their experiences with the pandemic. Today it’s a pair of guests, one new to the show, one a returning artist Dave has spoken to over nearly three decades: the husband and wife team of Carlos Santana and his wife, drummer / singer / songwriter Cindy Blackman Santana, who you may also know from her many years working with Lenny Kravitz.

They’ve covered John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s, “Imagine, teaming up with Song Aid and Why Hunger to tackle a global hunger crisis that has grown worse due to the coronavirus pandemic. When fans stream Imagine, or other tracks being released via Song Aid, streaming proceeds get funneled to Why Hunger’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. Also special, the track is set to also be a part of Cindy’s album “Give the Drummer Some”, planned for a September release.
