Par Hawaii is celebrating 20 years of Fueling Dreams for local athletes. From April 14 to May 26, 2025, island drivers can go the extra mile by making a donation at check out at any participating Hele station including 20 on Oahu, eight on Hawaii Island, and five on Maui. Every dollar pumped into this campaign helps athletes with intellectual disabilities train and compete free of charge.
Par Hawaii, marketer of Hele and 76 Hawaii, has been a strong supporter of Special Olympics Hawaii for more than three decades. To date, the Fueling Dreams campaign has raised more than $1,057,120 for Special Olympics Hawaii athletes and programs.

Maui Master Gardener Annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale
Come celebrate the Mom's in your life with an expanded selection of native plants, gift plants and hard to find vegetables!
KAHULUI, April 29, 2025 - Maui Master Gardeners will be holding a Mother’s Day Plant Sale on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 from 8am - 3pm at the UH Maui College Campus, 310 Ka’ahumanu Ave, Kahului.
We will be featuring unusual veggies, native plants and special gifts (including custom succulent and flower arrangements) for the moms in your life. Our friendly, knowledgeable Maui Master Gardeners will help you find the perfect plant or gift arrangement.
We also will be holding two Fruit Fly Classes at the event 10am - 12pm and 1pm-3pm, so shop for plants and attend a very useful Fruit Fly class!
Our Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer any of your gardening questions at our “Ask a Master Gardener Booth”. Quantities are limited so plan to shop early! Hope to see you there!

Open Enrollment for students entering grades 5-12 to participate in a summer youth Opera training program. Presented by the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus and the Hawaii Opera Theater Education Department. Debut of a NEW commissioned opera based on an original story, about Mo'o (Dragons) who live on Maui and assume human form with super powers. This intensive opera / theater training program will provide students to build their skills as performers in the singing, performing and dramatic arts. All roles performed by student participants. Daily instruction in the afternoons. Culminating in performances on Oahu and Maui. Students will receive training in drama, dance, auditioning, solo and group singing. They will help to make some of their props, costumes and stage decor. NO previous experience necessary or to enroll. However, past performing arts experience is a PLUS as this is a very intense and fast paced program. Students MUST be able to fully commit to the program with all rehearsals and performances. Program activities are Monday through Friday in the Month of June in the afternoons for 4 hours daily. Performances will take place over the last weekend of June. Students must be able to travel to Maui independant of their parents. Original story by a native Hawaiian author and composed by an Iolani grad. Seabury Hall will host its popular Craft Fair on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 9am - 4pm. This family-friendly event has become a cherished tradition to kick off Mother’s Day weekend. The Craft Fair transforms the school's upcountry campus into a bustling marketplace filled with Maui’s best artists, jewelers, crafters, floral gifts, a silent auction, live music, food, and keiki activities.
For families, the Seabury Hall Craft Fair provides a wholesome and entertaining experience. Face painting, games, bounce houses, pony rides, and the famous waterslide contribute to a festive atmosphere that makes the fair an enjoyable outing for all ages.
Admission is $10 for adults and children 12 and under are free. Free parking is available; premium parking is $20.
Proceeds from the Craft Fair go towards financial aid programs for the school. The financial aid programs serve a twofold purpose: to provide deserving students an opportunity for a high-quality college preparatory education which might otherwise be unobtainable for them, and to provide the school with a well-qualified student body reflecting a broad social and economic mix.
There's something for everyone to enjoy in May at the next JCCH Craft & Collectibles Fair! Shop with local small business vendors that will offer Japanese and Japanese-inspired items. The JCCH Gift Shop and Historical Gallery will also be open.
FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS FUNDRAISER: Just in time for Mother's Day, fresh floral arrangements created by our ikebana volunteers will be available for purchase at the JCCH Gift Shop. 100% of sale proceeds benefit the JCCH.
LET’S TALK...SWORDS!: Join President Al Furuto and members of the Japanese Sword Society of Hawaii (JSSH) for a talk story session and Q&A. View rare and authenticated swords while learning about the history of Samurai swords.
KOINOBORI DISPLAY: Take a photo with our koinobori 鯉のぼり (carp flag) decorations in the JCCH courtyard! These are currently displayed in celebration of Children’s Day on 5/5, but will remain up through the craft fair.

Public Tours of Foster Botanical Garden resume in January 2025!
Volunteer docents will conduct tours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., rain or shine.
Docents just completed a six-week training and are eager to engage the public meaningfully.
On these tours, docents will provide an overview and some details of some of the gardenʻs seven sections. No two tours are the same—different docents bring different background knowledge and life experiences. All are passionate about plants.
