The Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series presents violinist Meg Okura, renowned for her award-winning Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble, and Grammy winning jazz pianist Kevin Hays on Saturday, February 17, 2024 .This Global Jazz Concert is a multicultural journey, from Duke Ellington to Okura’s Japanese-Jewish jazz, celebrating the rich tapestry of jazz music.
Dubbed "the queen of chamber jazz" by All About Jazz, Meg Okura is a Grammy-nominated violinist and award-winning composer. She made her solo US debut at the age of 19 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and is a graduate of the Juilliard School. Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist, composer and singer/songwriter Kevin Hay's many recordings have received critical acclaim from The New York Times, Downbeat Magazine, and Jazz Times as well as the "Coup de Coeur" award from the Academie Charles Cros in France.
