Talk Story: Sharing Gems about Kaimukī's Past!

Talk Story: Sharing Gems about Kaimukī's Past!

Aloha! Do you have fond memories of growing up in the charming town of Kaimukī? Would you like to share those stories and help preserve our community's history for future generations? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity for you! The team at Kaimukī Public Library is conducting interviews with community members to create a living oral history of our beloved Kaimukī area.

Remember, "i ka ʻōlelo nō ke ola, i ka ʻōlelo nō ka make" – our words hold incredible power. By sharing your experiences and insights, you’ll be enriching our understanding of Kaimukī's past and shaping how it’ll be remembered in the future.

To keep things moving along, we’ll need to keep each interview to about 5-10 minutes. Just a heads up, interviews will take place during our library hours. The stories we gather will become a key resource at the library and will be featured during the Kaimukī Public Library’s Anniversary Celebration in June!

If you're interested in participating or want more details, feel free to drop by the library or give us a call at (808) 733-8422. We can’t wait to hear your stories!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events on the HSPLS Events Calendar.
