Conductor Joseph Stepec on Classical Pacific

Joseph Stepec serves as the Music Director of the University of Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra, the director of the Hawaiʻi Youth Symphony’s Symphony Program, the Artistic Director of the Pacific Music Institute and as an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Hawaiʻi.

Conductor and musical director Joseph Stepec joins Classical Pacific’s Wednesday host, John Zak, in a lively discussion about the challenges and opportunities in bringing classical music to young people across the islands. Stepec also shares personal stories about the joys of conducting for educational and professional orchestras.

Stepec conducts the University of Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, May 1, at the Moanalua High School Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
