November is Hawai‘i Fashion Month with runway shows, pop up boutiques, and lots of opportunities to shop local designers. Last year, the fashion industry pumped 750 million dollars into the local economy, much of it through small businesses that began on a dream and a prayer.
Hawai'i Fashion Month has many components that run through November, perhaps the best chance to shop a range of local designers will be Honolulu Fashion Week presented by HONOLULU magazine which will pull from Art + Flea, Ma`oli Arts Month, Conscious Designers Hawai`i, and Kaua`i Art Factory. 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8; noon–9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9., Hawaii Convention Center Exhibition Hall, free, limited capacity.
