Gov. David Ige presents the HIGotVaccinated incentive program on June 6, 2021.

The state’s coronavirus vaccine incentive program was set to end last week. But with COVID cases still surging, the HIGotVaccinated contest will continue until the end of the month.

The program was announced at the beginning of June and has already been extended twice. Anyone who has been vaccinated can enter.

So far, there have been 280,000 entries in the HIGotVaccinated program. Organizers say there are plans to open a third contest when the state reaches 300,000 entries.

There are still several prizes from local companies available. Steven Kam of Waipahu recently won $5,000 from American Savings Bank. The bank plans on awarding two more $5,000 prizes.

Last week, the state reported nearly 64% of Hawaii’s population is fully vaccinated.
