Department of Education struggles to get computers to all students

The Hawaii Department of Education is spending millions of dollars on laptops and mobile hotspots for low-income families but some devices have yet to arrive. Gov. David Ige talks state's COVID response

It's been five months since Hawaii first went into lockdown as COVID-19 began to spread across the United States. After several months of low levels of the virus, Hawaii is now experiencing a large spike in new cases, on top of persistently high unemployment. HPR's Ryan Finnerty sat down with Gov. Exhibit shows Hawaii's worldwide influence on string instruments

You may not be aware of the tremendous influence Hawaii music had on the world. Well, a new exhibit at the Bishop Museum aims to spread the word and the sense of pride about humble roots of the ukulele and the steel guitar.
